Ailey & Me Campaign- Whitney Museum (2024)

Agency: FCB New York

Role: Senior Producer

Alvin Ailey and Me is a project that asks members of the public to share personal stories of how the enduring legacy and influence of iconic dancer, choreographer, and artist Alvin Ailey's life and work has impacted them. These stories celebrate and showcase the lasting, far-reaching impact that this influential artist continues to have: a key theme in Edges of Ailey.

Members of the public are able to participate in the project by submitting digital letters online, in collaboration with agency FCB New York. They can also write letters in person at the Whitney during Free Friday Nighs from 5–10 pm every Friday. Accepted submissions will be shared on the site until early 2025 and will then be added to the Whitney Museum’s archive.

As part of this project we launched a website to archive the publics responses through letters, as well as launched a city wide OOH campaign where we projected select letters on prominent buildings around NYC, some which held significance in Alvin Ailey’s life. Additionally we created an OOH campaign in NYC subways to encourage people to visit the exhibition and also submit letter to the “Alvin Ailey & Me” website.

Website that serves as the digital archive of the user generated “Alvin Ailey & Me”letters.
